Tax and Trade

Dutko Grayling’s team has particular expertise is tax policy and many of the industries it touches both domestically and overseas. Collectively, the Dutko team has great experience in working with the House and Senate leadership, the Joint Committee on Taxation, the U.S. Treasury Department, and the international trade agencies (USTR, Department of Commerce, and US International Trade Commission).  Dutko Grayling also has strong bipartisan ties to the Congressional Committees that oversee both taxation and international trade  – the House Ways and Means Committee and the Senate Finance Committee; the team includes members who have worked on the staff of both Committees and have strong personal relationships with the Chairmen, Ranking Members, and other senior Members of both Committees.

Dutko Grayling currently works with a number of clients on international trade and taxation issues, such as the Council of the North American Insulation Manufacturers Association, Accenture, the American Chemistry Council, CITGO, and General Motors.  Members of the Dutko team have intimate experience with the tax and trade issues facing the oil and gas, manufacturing, entertainment, retail, agricultural, finance, housing, and alternative energy industries.  We have dealt both with broad legislation impacting issues like taxation of companies working abroad as well as narrower tax and trade bills focused on discrete issues often known as “tax extenders” legislation or Miscellaneous Tariff Bills (MTB).  The Dutko Grayling team has worked with and managed various coalitions as well as working with numerous individual clients.
