Posted 12.09.2011

Washington, D.C. – Prominent Chicago attorney Thomas Hynes will bring his strong ties to Midwestern corporate and political leaders to collaborate with the Washington, D.C.-based public policy management firm Dutko Grayling, Pete Halpin, Dutko Grayling Senior Vice President and Chicago native, announced today.

Hynes’ collaboration will coincide with the establishment of a Dutko Grayling Chicago office which will be located within the Thomas Hynes Law Offices at 30 North LaSalle Street in Chicago.  The Dutko Grayling office will offer clients the full array of Dutko Grayling's public policy management services, from direct lobbying and private-public partnership building to state government liaison and corporate risk management.

"Tom Hynes is more than a friend and a great lawyer, he's a superb business and public policy strategist," said Halpin, whose relationship with Hynes dates back to Hynes’ service as Illinois Senate President.   "Dutko Grayling has long sought to establish a presence in Chicago and the Midwest.  In Tom Hynes, we've found a smart and aggressive business leader who can help us grow a dynamic government relations practice."

Hynes, who also served 18 years as the Cook County Assessor and is currently a member of the Executive Committee of the Democratic National Committee said, "I'm honored to be working on a cooperative basis with the Dutko Grayling family. We can now offer locally-based corporations and institutions unmatched services to help them achieve their bottom-line and public policy objectives.   What differentiates Dutko Grayling from other 'lobbying' firms is its commitment to build partnerships between its clients and private and public decision-makers.  I'm confident that many Chicago- and Midwestern-based organizations will benefit from Dutko Grayling's expertise."

Halpin, who previously served as Director of the City of Chicago’s Washington DC office under Mayor Richard M. Daley, will spend considerable time in Chicago helping the new office get off the ground.

Dutko Grayling was formerly known as Dutko Worldwide.  Now owned by British parent Huntsworth, it is part of the Grayling network, the world's second largest independent communications network.
